The IOA in Europe (2010)
The IOA are pleased to announce that we have accepted invitations to the following shows in 2010 .
FRANCE : The International Festival , Deville Les Rouen.
Once again presented by L'Amicale Ornithologique De Normandie in partnership with the Club Technique De Canaris De Couleurs , the Iternational Festival caters for Colour and Posture Canaries , Exotics and Parrotts (please note no classes for European Fauna ) and is held in Rouen , Normandy . A two hour drive from the ferry port of Calais , the historic city of Rouen has much to offer and the Festival is an ideal event to participate in or simply vist . The famous hospitatlity of the 'Freindly Bird Club of Normandy ' is once again extended to all IOA & Affilaite members . Paul Brockman will act as co-ordinator and conveyor to this show and you should cntact him on 01293 458360 or by email for details , (entry form , schedule , costs , accomodation etc. ) The show runs from the 19th to the 24th October 2010 and is open to the public on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th .
BELGIUM : The Golden Ring Show , Roeselare
The Golden Ring is an ideal show for all IOA & Affiliate members to take part in or to visit , Roeslare is an hour & a half drive from the ferry port of Calais and the show has a full classification for all birds and is a firm favourite on the European exhibition calander with the 2010 show being the eighteenth .With extensive sales classes and trade stands it comes highly recomended with a warm welcome gaurenteed. Richard Lumley will act as co-ordinator and conveyor to this show and you should cntact him on 01653 697565 or by email for details , (entry form , schedule , costs , accomodation etc. ) The show runs from the 30th November to the 5th December 2010 and is open to the public on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th .
IOA Ring & Membership Secretra
y , Richard Lumley , recently conveyed Team GB to the Golden Ring Show in Roeselare . As part of the IOA's commitment to supporting more shows on the Continent and cementing relationships with our European partners in the COM , the GB entry was well received . Alas no medals came our way but Richard ,Cliff Griifen & Paul Brockman had Gloster,Irish Fancy and Hoso canaries score a respectable 90 points . In the European Fauna section Alan Robinson scored 89 points with a Greenfinch.
The Golden Ring Show will become a regular show on the IOA exhibition calander , with Roeslare an hour and a half away from the port of Calais it is ideally situated for exhibitors and visitors alike.
So put the 4th & 5th December 2010 in your diary now as Richard has already committed to act as conveyor for team GB next year.
Its no wonder Richard is eager to return to the Golden Ring , with over 4,000 birds on view and extensive sales classes , trade stands and exceptional hospitality its one you would not wish to miss.

L ‘AMICALE ORNITHOLOGIQUE DE NORMANDIE

AN EXPOSITION ORNITHOLOGIQUE
and AN INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL of COLOURS.
The L'amicle Ornithologique De Normandie ( The Friendly Bird Club of Normandy ) joined with the CTC ( Club Technique De Canaris De Couleurs , the equivalent of the UK's CCBA ) to present the only show to be held under the auspices of the C.O.M. in France during 2009. This International status show , held in Canteleu -Seine Maritime , is rapidly becoming 'a must not miss' event on the Iternational exhibition calendar .

This was the first year the IOA COM GB entered a team into the Festival and a team of 42 canaries was conveyed to the show by IOA Presidennt , Paul Brockman, who was taken aback by the welcome he recieved and was qoted as saying " When they called it the friendly club of Normandy they certainly chose the right name!"

The IOA COM GB team consisted of birds entered by Les Summers , Brian Hogg , Neville Guant , Paul Brockman and Saviour Camalleri .
Les won 5 Gold , 4 Silver and a Bronze medal wth his Irish Fancy Canaries . Brian Hogg 2 Golds & a Silver with Lancashires and Crestbred , Paul Brockman a Gold , 2 Silvers and a Bronze with Hoso & Scotch Fancy , whilst Neville Gaunt became the first ever UK exhibitor to take a medal at a show held under the auspices of the COM with a Gold and a Silver . But the 'star of the show' was a team of Norwich entered by Saviour whose Buff Cock was adjudged to be 'Best Posture Canary in Show' , Saviour also won 3 Golds and a Silver .
